Stainless steel pipe is a kind of hollow long cylindrical steel. Its application scope is used as the pipeline for conveying fluid, mainly used in petroleum, chemical industry, medical treatment, food, light industry, mechanical instrument and other industrial transmission pipelines and mechanical structural components. The stainless steel pipe is made of the billets of acid and heat resistant grades, which are heated, perforated, calibrated, hot rolled and cut.
Classification of stainless steel pipe: stainless steel seamless pipe and stainless steel welded steel pipe (seamed steel pipe) are two basic categories. According to the outer diameter shape of steel pipe, it can be divided into circular pipe and special-shaped pipe. Circular steel pipe is widely used, but there are also some square, rectangular, semicircle, hexagon, equilateral triangle, octagon and other special-shaped steel pipes.
Hydraulic test and radiographic inspection shall be carried out for steel pipes under fluid pressure to check their pressure resistance and quality. If there is no leakage, wetting or expansion under the specified pressure, it is qualified. Some steel pipes shall be subject to crimping test, expanding test, flattening test, etc. according to the standards or the requirements of the demander.
Seamless stainless steel pipe, also known as stainless steel seamless pipe, is made of steel ingot or solid tube blank through perforation, and then by hot rolling, cold rolling or cold drawing. Specification of seamless steel pipe is indicated by outer diameter * wall thickness in mm.
